The questions that decide

Straight answers — including when the honest answer is “no”.

“Is it GDPR-compliant?”

The honest answer: Pseudo is an aid to pseudonymisation, in the GDPR sense — and pseudonymisation does not make data anonymous. Pseudonymised data remain personal data, because a mapping table exists; only, that table is encrypted, kept on your machine, and the key never leaves it. The software does not choose your legal basis and is no substitute for your own review. Be wary of anyone promising compliance in a box: that is precisely what we refuse to sell — and that is why a DPO can stand behind this approach.

“What if I lose my restore key?”

There is no back door — that is a guarantee, not an oversight: nobody, not even us, can open your table. A lost key means a lost return trip for that batch (your originals, for their part, never moved). To help you: an optional hint travels with the key, and the same key can serve several batches.

“What happens if I cancel?”

Nothing is held hostage. The tables already made and Restore stay open forever; only new runs are closed off. No purge, no countdown.

“Why does it need a local AI assistant?”

Because the name harvest is a judgement call, and we refuse to make that call on a server of ours — your texts have no business passing through NMA. The app detects LM Studio or Ollama on your machine and has them judge the candidates; a small model is enough. Without an assistant, you write the list yourself — the flows in detail.

“Which languages?”

The corpus it processes is French — the airlock is sized for it (dictionary, phonetics, national patterns: phone numbers, IBAN, SIRET, NIR). A document clearly in another language is refused, and the app says so. The Editor, which speaks five languages, is a different product.

“Does an Editor Pro key open Pseudo?”

No — two applications, two keys (PAL-… and PSEUDO-…), two subscriptions. Buying Pseudo requires neither the Editor nor a pack. The two apps are designed to complement each other; each stands on its own.

“Which files can I process?”

Text, Markdown, Word (.docx — document body), PowerPoint (slides), PDF (text layer, no scans), HTML, RTF, XML, CSV, spreadsheets. The full list, refusals included, is on the Features page.

“Can I try it for free?”

Not at present: there is no free version and no trial. There is a single price — €39.99/year or €4.99/month incl. VAT — cancellable, with the guarantee above: Restore never closes.

“Are my documents sent to NMA?”

No — never. NMA Conseil handles only the sale: email, key, subscription status, invoice. Your corpora, tables and copies stay on your disk, under your responsibility — backups included. Privacy policy — Pseudo.
