Your assistant, not ours

Pseudo handles sensitive documents: the AI question here is first of all a network question. Here, plainly, is who talks to whom.

IThe name harvest — a local assistant

To draw up the list of identities, the app has the candidates judged by the AI assistant you have installed — LM Studio or Ollama, detected automatically on your machine. A small model is enough: the judge does not have to write, only to rule “person, organisation, or noise”. Nothing passes through NMA Conseil. The setup guide gets you equipped in half an hour.

The prerequisite, stated plainly: without a reachable assistant, the automatic search does not start — you can still write the list yourself, and the rest of the airlock works exactly the same.

IIYour network — warned, not blocked

The assistant's address is yours: this computer, a server at the lab or the firm, an SSH or WireGuard tunnel. When the address leaves the local loopback, the app warns you — it does not block: you remain the operator responsible for your network. Nowhere do we write “nothing is sent off your machine”: that would be false the moment your assistant lives on the LAN, and you deserve the exact sentence. A sending door “outside your responsibility” exists in the engine; it stays closed.

IIIPublic AI — the airlock's destination

And the cloud? It is precisely the product's reason for being. Pseudo never calls a public AI itself: it prepares copies that you can take there without exposing the identities in your folder — then it restores the real names on the way back, even in a rewritten text. The promise is not deprivation (“don't use ChatGPT”): it is reconciliation — use the best public AIs, without handing them your identities.
