Why trust Palimpseste
No empty promises — verifiable commitments. Here is what you can rely on, and how to check it for yourself.
Try it with zero risk
A Free plan with no time limit and no credit card. Judge for yourself before paying anything. See pricing.
Your writing stays with you
Local-first: your documents live on your disk, not on our servers. No application telemetry, no data resale. AI is only used if you configure it. Privacy policy.
No lock-in
Everything is stored in open formats (Markdown, YAML, JSON) — readable anywhere, forever. Professional export (LaTeX, DOCX, EPUB, PDF…). You can leave whenever you want, with all your work — and after 48 cumulative months of subscription, the license becomes perpetual.
Actively maintained, not abandoned
Frequent, signed updates, a public changelog, and responsive support (reply within 1-2 business days). You see what changes and who to talk to.
Protected purchases
Secure Stripe payment, accessible invoices, a consumer mediator (CM2C) and French law, signed packs (verifiable integrity and author). Legal & Terms.
Expert methods, not filler
Each pack bundles an expert persona, a method library indexed in a local RAG, and a ready-to-fill project — a real working cycle, not empty templates. See the catalogue.
Compare for yourself
We stand behind the comparison with Sudowrite, Plottr or Scrivener — strengths, limits, and where Palimpseste makes the difference. See the comparison.
An independent, identifiable publisher
Palimpseste is published by NMA Conseil (Nicolas Mathieu), a clearly identified French business. A real point of contact, not an anonymous shell. Who publishes Palimpseste.
