Privacy — Palimpseste Loupe

Summary

Palimpseste Loupe collects no data. Nothing you open, and nothing you do in the app, ever leaves your device. The app is published by NMA Conseil, like Palimpseste.

Your files

Palimpseste Loupe reads and displays the videos and images you open with it. All processing happens on your device.

When you ask for a repaired copy, a re-wrapped copy, a still capture or a clip export, the resulting file is written to the location you choose, and nowhere else. The original is never modified.

The app keeps a list of recently opened files so it can offer them next time. That list stays on your device and is sent to no one. You can clear it at any time.

No network access

On Mac, the app runs in a sandbox and declares no network entitlement: transmitting anything is technically impossible for it. On every platform, its code contains no network calls, and the app bundles no third-party libraries.

No trackers, no account

There is no analytics tool, no third-party crash reporting, no advertising and no advertising identifier. There is no account to create.

What the app does not do, but the system may

HD upscaling relies on a machine-learning model provided by the operating system. On first use, macOS or iOS may download that model from Apple. That download is performed by the system, not by the app, and it transmits none of your content.

Likewise, if you purchase the app or an unlock, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. NMA Conseil never has access to your payment details. Apple provides only aggregated, anonymous sales statistics.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and collects no data from any user, of any age.

Your data, and the limit of our liability

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. NMA Conseil accepts no liability for data loss, for an unreadable file, or for any other direct or indirect damage arising from use of the software. Always keep a backup of your files — true of any software that writes to a disk, this one included.
